Giving Old Timber New Life!

As part of our commitment to sustainability and our community, we ensure that our offcut and excess timber from our furniture is collected by The Aldingbourne Trust which is then used by the Wood@Aldingbourne Project. We wanted to share this exciting and important project with you!

Wood@Aldingbourne is a social enterprise, a not-for-profit environmental group that also helps people with learning disabilities or autism lead independent lives whilst also being as environmentally friendly as possible.

Managing director at the Aldingbourne Trust, Sue Livett, said:

“We have saved over 300 tons of waste timber going into the landfill, which is the equivalent to about 34 double decker buses.”

The team at Wood@Aldingbourne have a shop where they sell their creations. The Aldingbourne trust also makes for a great day out with the family with a farm, play areas, a woodland walk, maze and even crazy golf! You can visit it at this address:

Aldingbourne Country Centre
Blackmill Lane, Norton
Chichester, West Sussex
PO18 0JP

Wood that is not suitable for the trust’s assortment of handmade garden ornaments is sent to the on-site biomass boiler to help provide eco-friendly heating across the site.

We are very proud to be a small part of this project.
